Questions and Answers

Inspired by some questions that were put to us in public lectures that occur in the country of Portugal by Jose da Silva about the Kriya Yoga passed by Mahavatar Babaji, we understand to outcrop them here with the purpose of stimulating some future creative curiosity. So, we think that may have some usefulness.

We were sorry but we will also translating the questions and answers to english the fast as we can. There are some that are already translated.

What means Kriya Yoga?

Kriya derives from the sanskrit root “kri” which means action, work. Work, in this case, within the spine, which is the altar of the temple, our body. Let us remember for this efect, what Jesus Christ told us: ‘Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.’ He refers obviously to his physical body, as we knew later. Around that altar, which is our spine, are related the astral channels, sushumna, pingala, ida and the main chacras (vortexes, force centers).

Yoga means reconnect, unite, return to our divine origin that is only a single consciousness in all Criation. This presents itself apparently fragmented in individualities. It is true that we ignore in absolute that our condition, at least a large majority of human creatures, some, will remember far between and few, very few, ever.

All the great masters of spirituality are alerting us to the natural impulse that we all, without exception, feel to encounter the higher nature of our essence and, at some moment, we will just have to take the initiative to put us in the way.

One of them, Jesus, when he was kicked out of a synagogue by the pharisees, taught us like this:

“Do you not believe in what I say?”

“Why you are running me out from the synagogue?

“You do not believe in the ancient scriptures?

“We believe!” They reply.

“Then, is not writen there that You are Gods (God)?”

“Yes it is!” They reply.

“So I tell you, you are Gods (God).”

Jesus is with compassion inviting us to take the most deeper awareness of the Supreme Truth, with this passage, and, by his sublime teaching, exemplified in his acts, the invitation is extended to seek to find Me, beating at the door for You to open Your own, asking that You give to Yourself.
Mahavatar Babaji, the Christ-Yogi, is mercifully replying, with the alms of the science of Kriya Yoga, to the echo of our poignant shout: what sleepwalkers; at millions we run over ich other tactfully the ignorance darkness. Suddenly, the gravid hope awake us and we start so the returning to the fertile lands of eternal happiness. For each Kriya, by own right of the prodigal son, we will announce at the door, we give news for what we look and request humbly to Brahman to welcome and caress us in His parental lap.

What is Prana?

Prana, vital energy is the result of the Cosmic Intelligence vibration, apparently in His first act manifested non-manifested. An “idea” of Him. That´s it.

In Kriya Yoga of Mahavatar Babaji, we resort particularly to the prana more subtle, which is, in its primary form, so we speak. We do not leave to use the one contained in the oxygen when we practice the pranayama (breath control), simultaneously, however.

Because of the primary form of prana be so subtle, is not easy for us to perceive it, but with the practice, it becomes progressively more tangible it presence and familiar it action.

According to the masters of this lineage, the prana enters our body mainly by the spinal bulb, moves to the cerebral cortex, nervous sensory system (the one of the sensations) and it spread to the rest of the body.

There is a continuous flow of energy of life to the sensory organs that allows the human creatures experiment feelings of all kind, by specialized organs to that effect, those related to the senses and, as a consequence of that, organize thoughts, memories, emotions, etc.., in other words, the ego mind.

Thus, although the human ego be, in latest analysis, a product of what the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, taste, smell) caughted, however, is the role of prana truly the mission of communication channel of such process. Indeed, without it, it was not possible the emerge and remain of any kind of organism, in particular or even the all of the manifestation in general.

So, then we verify that the abuse of sensations are directly proportional to the waste of prana. The inconsistent misemploy of energy of life is installed unfortunately even in the most common habits of day-to-day life of our species. The ignorance and unconsciousness are shoulder to shoulder and suffering, the high price, the invoice of many excessiveness to pay, many times without the right to receipt because there was no time for that. All great spiritual leaders recommend great caution in the use of the organs of the senses: not abuse to be on the phone cell or phone, watch TV, use the Internet or computer in general, reading, eating, sex, talk, etc.. Well, our inner voice, the intuition, will tell us what to do in due time. We all know that. We just need to be attentive to our center. More times…

In summary, the practice of Kriyas has to finality change the usual course of prana. When intentionally, with a specific technique, we accent, we make the prana circulate on the spine in more or less revolutions of 30 secounds, the flow which goes naturally to the senses with no effort, allowing man to perceive and acquire knowledge, it is reversed and redirected in form to be more concentrated in greater quantity on the chacras. These and all structures linked to them in any way that are in there, also specialized in the manifestation of forces that we conventionally call divine, are stimulated to unravel the Supreme I.

The Supreme I does not obey to the laws of perception-cognition (perceive-know) that are computerized by attempts and errors. He is the innate knowledge, unassailable, immaculated of the Truth. Pure Intuition, conveyed from the essence of the Self that makes us Be: Existing, Aware and Happy.

Only experiencing. And the invite is done to us without cease.

In what consist the practice of Kriya Yoga?

At thousands of years ago, the ancient rishis (wise men) of India found that the human being, attaining the level of moral balanced, healthy alimentation, amount of sufficient sunlight and reasonable health, is naturally lead by the intrinsic strength of it divine nature, which conspires silently, to give quantitative and qualitative earthy jumps of 12 in 12 years. After 1 million years the physical body is able to withstand, without damage, the manifestation of the Cosmic Conscience. Independently of any conscious or unconscious effort in that direction.

In the nineteenth century, Mahavatar Babaji, situated among the largest ever Yogis of this planet, sent us one of his disciples more advanced, Lahiri Mahasaya. Submit him to the blurred birth of a maternal womb and to the absorbing and responsable fatherly experience of a householder, like any common mortal, so that, humanized, he exemplify to the receptive ones, the science of such type of Kriyas. In the first half of the twentieth century, sent us Yogananda, another prominent Yogi, as itinerant ambassador of his disclosure.

Using a specific technique, this Kriya is, briefly, a deliberate intention of doing with the thought, in a precise and accurate sense of the term, the prana descend or ascend and, immediately, go in the opposite direction, throughout the interior of the spine. The intuitive certainty (subjective truth), simultaneously, should leave no doubts nor give rise to other daydreams. In summary, the sum of the portions intention, certainty, concentration, repetition, persistence and resistance are the means that will determine your success.

A complete revolution in what we call one kriya, should comprise about 30 seconds, we accent. It is the first level, the basic, which, alongside the highers, must be received in a formal initiation ceremony lead by someone accredited for that purpose.

A single Kriya provokes a year of spiritual progress, under the discoveries of the ancient wise men of India, as referred before. The practice starts up, usually, with 12 Kriyas by day, where you spent about 6 minutes and which you advance, of course, 12 years.

Gradually, you go increasing it number, in a space of mounths, according to the directive of the instructor and strength of will of the performer. Under careful guidance and tenacity applied, you can come to one thousand kriyas daily, after years of weighted and secure progressive increases; so we can get, thus, thousand years of development in a single day, 365 000 in a year (365 days) and one million in three, abbreviating, in a remarkable way, the time that nature naturaly run on. Of course, requires an iron determination and availability that are not easily in our reach. So, in other circumstances, there will be those who reach the final goal on 12, 24, 36, 48 and more years or can only take this good prarabdha (result of the past actions, found in the present life) in their registers, invisibles to the ordinary look, when they leave their physical bodies. In the next reincarnation or subsequent, they collect the succulent and juicy fruit of their effort. In fact, many are called, but few, by self-exclusion, will seat at the table of the Lord’s Supper.

To the passenger is needed to have always present that in any spiritual activity is wise to be despoil of attachment to the result. Practice with intention and determined conviction yes, but without the obsessive anxiety in it obtainment. This state of spirit, say those who preceded us in knowledge, interpose between the idealized dream and any vestige of awaited success. The fruits will mature but at due time. And be patient, know to wait and have faith are requirements of success in any discipline of life. It is the secret.

So it happens like this with this kriyas. As we have seen, the followed discipline in this path provoke an accumulation of pranic energy in the chacras and sushumna channel with sacrosanct results that securely accelerate the whole process of emancipation of our species. The virtue is always to have present only the pleasure of practice them. Lahiri Mahasaya said: “Go making, one day is done“. Year after year, sensation in sensation, the magnetization developed by the pranic current in the spine will generate unutterable waves of sublime pleasure and in its wings will silently travel the physical body, the soul and the spirit dandled by the smooth breeze blew by nascent that, whispery, will awake the child divinity sleepier in us.

What is the reason why the mind is the greatest obstacle to the “spiritual evolution” of the human being?
Meanwhile the Many Mystifying is Unmasked

The mind is endowed with cognition, affection and volition, that is, knowledge, love, or friendship and will. If the human being think individually and interact as such is thanks to the singular activity of these three functions.

The result of the interaction between the mind and the five senses, specialised in the captation of external stimulus, only can reach where their physiological capacities permit it.

Thus, seen of a dispassionate angle, the mind is confined to its proper nature of matter that belongs to the matter. Irredeemably relegated to a plan which only perceives itself and what it considers material that encircles it. As it is forbid what can not understand, the presumption that does not exist what can not perceive by sight is tempting. A small step.

In the limit, it is haunted without truces by its matrix and support: the physical body. Is out of question to achieve the status of maturity to overcome itself and achieve the vision of an unified conscience in the manifestation that it always appears fragmented. For enhance in this appearance dive, all that is seen is constructed by itself, as the great planetarium mystics disclose and have passed the knowledge since are memory.

After all if only depend of it rationalists demands, the man would make a sphinx of it nature, it destiny a swamp, jammed in an evolutionary random without dreams, adrift in the struggle for life and in the temporary pleasure.

Higher Nature, Free Will of Man

However, the human being is continually compelled to wake up to the remembrance of it divine nature, that discreetly announces in all their acts. By convulsion in convulsion, jolted by the continued harassment of empty without sense, ripped it sense, eviscerate it soul and from it bowels blow immaculate winds of pure intuition. Sprout the hope of eternal life, the one that wins the birth and death and inspires it to trust on faith.

But are the first steps, and as still excited with the promises of the senses, only occasionally gives attention to the epic of the return, for not see a few times, others for not understand. And the intuition will continue hostage of it doubts.

On stumbling the man, already believer in something superior than an ephemeral existence, still can be herded in the meshes of the of systems of beliefs retrograde and dogmatic, traditional or recent, some emerged from nowhere as dubious compass, that seeds confusion in that already fragile and uninformed convictions, hinder it and slowing its glorious climb to the inside of Itself.

Bewildered, in the cinder of the melee with its ghosts, reaches at last the emancipation of tyranny of doubt. Temperate in the accumulated experience, let be guided by the star of subjective truth which it states in the singleness of the being aware of quiet existence.

Acknowledge itself as I Am That, no-thought, so no-mind, notes that the mind, in other time deified in the altar of the ego, not pass ultimately of a revolving plate of the impressions of the senses world, fulfilling unfathomable plans of the Creation; And, on the other hand, when is confronted directly with the threat of it extinction, resists with a tenacity and source of resources of self-preservation until there unsuspected.

Oh ignorance! For what I want you?

Paramahansa Yogananda, once in North America in the early 1920s, newcomer from India, was approached by a disciple that put him the following question:

Disciple:

“Swami may you explain me what Jesus wanted to say with: “When your body is one your body will be full of light.”

I have already raised this question to God’s ministers of different congregations, but its explanations have not been convincing.”

Yogananda:

When a blind lead another blind both fall in the abyss.”

The sublime Yogananda, drawing of other teaching of Jesus Christ to justify in which hands still walk the human ignorance, continuous act, touched lightly the disciple with one of his fingers in the zone between the eyebrows (the third eye) which immediately opened, revealing only exist light where the matter it figured as sovereign.

  • Umas vezes é tomada por um mero exercício mental para acalmar “nervos”, pensamentos, emoções, portanto, circunscrito ao corpo (mundo);
  • Outras, o objectivo é já espiritual, mas, advertida ou inadvertidamente, é direccionada para o desenvolvimento de capacidades que não são mais do que atributos de expansão e ou adensamento da mente (siddhis);
  • Ousar abolir a mente através de um confronto directo com pensamentos e quejandos, de onde não só é complicado sair quanto mais cortar a meta almejada;

A sonoridade turbulenta do pensamento

“Mestre porque esfrega as pedras dessa forma?!”

A resposta surgiu tão inesperada quanto insólita:

“Procuro fazer fogo!”

A natureza divina, a outra parte, é onde cabe o livrearbítrio.

Mestre:

“Mas isso não é a Verdade Absoluta! Assim estás a deixar-te arrastar pela ilusão do condicionamento.”

Ramakrishna:

Quem sou eu realmente?

Qual o sentido de toda a manifestação?

A verdade existe?

Sim?!

Então onde é que ela está?

Qual a justificação do sofrimento?

Quem o criou?
